Rainscreen furring FAQ

How thick are the rainscreen products you stock?

Keene Easy-Fur is 10 mm (0.40 in) thick. Keene Driwall is stocked in 6, 10 and 19 mm. Match the gap to your cladding maker's spec.

Wood furring or polymer strips?

Polymer furring such as Keene Easy-Fur does not rot or warp the way wood furring can when it stays wet behind cladding. Use wood furring where the project spec calls for it.

What fasteners should I use for furring?

Follow your cladding manufacturer's fastener schedule and local building code.

What cladding works over rainscreen furring?

Keene lists wood, metal and fiber cement cladding for Easy-Fur. Confirm the cladding maker's gap and fastener requirements.

How do I order for a larger project?
